Ciorcal Beo members took part in a workshop inspired by poet Dairena Ní Chinnéide.

We read through the poem Teanga Dhúchais (“mother tongue”) as a start, which brought us onto the topic of the rich meanings of dúchas.

The poem is available for purchase as part of Dairena’s collection of poetry called Teacht Aniar (ISBN
978-1-914482-18-2), see her published work for more information and to purchase the book.

I was pleasantly surprised and members’ poetic interpretations of the poem, and it sparked discussion on the felt sense of the Irish language.
