Do you really know the Irish? – Interview with Sandra

Emma chats with Grow member Sandra about her journey with the Irish language so far.

Sandra discusses her childhood experiences with the language and her return to it later in life. She reflects on her grandparents and their love for music, a passion she shared with them, and wonders: can you truly say you know the Irish culture without knowing the language? Sandra talks about the nuances, sayings, and phrases used by Irish people—nuances that you won’t fully grasp unless you sit down and learn the language.

I think it’s important to encourage people on their journey, to let them know, ‘Hey, look, I’m here beside you, supporting you.’
