From Athlone to Miami – Member Interview with Fionntán

Fionntán, from Baile Átha Luain (Athlone), left Ireland in 2006 to pursue his professional training in forensic pathology, travelling around the world and eventually settling in Miami, Florida.

Although Fionntán learning Irish during his school years and has a mother who grew up in the Gaeltacht in Mayo, he only now finds the time to commit to learning Irish and has improved by leaps and bounds. His ultimate goal is to explore the possibility of writing books as Gaeilge.

The opportunity to learn Irish online from abroad has been a key part of his progress in Irish and has recently managed to return home to Ireland to visit the beautiful Inis Meáin.
